We've already established that we love food at LFID (we're trying to figure out how to get a pizza oven in our office after last week's Fox Tales). But, after we grill up a plethora of tasty eats, we also love to share the fruits of our labor with our friends and family. Outdoor entertaining is a perfect way to come together to enjoy the lovely weather, some delectable food & beverages, and delightful company.

Creating a welcoming and beautiful space to entertain your guests in is just as important as crafting the perfect menu. No matter the time of year, there are ways to make use of your outdoor space for entertaining. A while back, Laura designed a tablescape for a long-time friend and client that would enable her to host a dinner party on her back deck in late fall. Laura incorporated seasonally appropriate decor while also adding assorted classic wool throws for the guests to stay warm and cozy.

Nobody wants the party to be forced to wrap up just because it's getting dark out and you can barely see which of your friends is talking. The addition of candles in some gorgeous lanterns as shown in the above and below photos is a splendid way to take the ambiance of your outdoor dining & entertaining space to the next level while also providing additional light so that you can keep the party going well into the evening.

By designing your outdoor entertaining space to be located under some sort of roof such as on a porch or under a simple shed-style roof, it really expands your options for entertaining in a vast assortment of weather conditions.
