Getting ready for your annual holiday shindig?
Make sure you check out our pointers beforehand so that you and your guests have the best & most festive time possible!
We all think about what decorations we need to really take the party to the next level and create a memorable experience. But, why do they have to be party specific? Find holiday decorations that fit your home and lifestyle and leave them up throughout the season. Why should your guests be the only ones to enjoy them?
Team LFID loves some chips and dip. And crackers and hummus. And veggies and ranch. But let's face it - it is all a bit overdone. Why not mix things up a bit? Throw in something unexpected like these Cranberry Brie Pastry Tarts or Pancetta Wrapped Asparagus. It's still quick and easy (20 minutes!) and your guests will thank you for it.
What's a party without drinks?!? Without fail, you can always count on guests to arrive bearing a bottle of wine or maybe some nice craft beer. But, why not do something fun and exciting for them by providing a nice signature cocktail (and serve it some gorgeous glassware)?
"But I don't want to be stuck playing bartender all night" you say? Set up a cocktail station with a framed recipe that is stocked with supplies and a framed recipe (we recommend this Cranberry Orange Margarita) and let your guests go to town.
Every guest is different and wants to do different things at a party. Some people want to hang out and socialize in the kitchen (it's where the food is, aka the best place) while others are bar flies and still others want to play a game at the table. Make sure everyone is comfortable by creating different spaces and having some sort of snacks and seating options available.
The most important tip that we can offer is to not stress. You do not have to be everything to everyone at your party. You've done all of this work, make sure you enjoy it!
